A Few Tips To Help You Along

Despite the Poodle's reputation as a spoiled canine, the breed is intelligent, lively, and courageous.

Poodles come in many different sizes and colors.  Remember when picking your pet, this is not just a today thing.  Your pet will be a part of your family for many years to come.

Remember to worm your puppy regularly and always make sure that it is current on it's shots.  We start worming our pups at two weeks of age and worm them every two weeks until they reach 2 1/2 to 3 months, then we change to a monthly schedule.

Your puppies first shots should be given at six weeks of age by a reputable vet.  Ask your vet about the best schedule to follow for immunizations.

Poodles hair never stop growing, therefore they should be groomed regularly, usually at six week intervals.  Hair grows even within the ear canals and can accumulate if not plucked out regularly.  This hair growth can cause ear infections, if not kept under control.  This hair is usually plucked out during the grooming process.

Here I'll list the tips to make this page easier to scan.

Some foods, although very tasty to humans, can be toxic to your poodle.  Here are a few:  chocolate, onions, grapes and raisins, coffee and tea, nutmeg, macadamia nuts, fruits avocados, tomatoes, potatoes, and rhubarb, hops, yeast dough, and moldy foods.

Besides some foods being toxic to your poodle their are a wide variety of plants which are very toxic to your poodles health.
